The London Borough of Hackney has an estimated population of 209,700.  Hackney, North East London was formed in 1965 and today provides a wide range of activities and places to visit including the Hackney Empire.  Many famous performances and Comedians have played at this venue which originally opened in 1901.  In 2001, a £17 million re-generation project started and in 2004, it was re-opened.  Public transport provides good links in and out of Central London including Buses, Trains and the Underground.
