Hampshire is the 5th most populated area of Britain with an estimated population of 1,705,700.  Some of the most popular areas include Portsmouth and Southampton.  There are many places to visit and as well as the more populated areas, there are some rural towns and villages which are well worth seeing.  It is sometimes mislead that the Isle of Wight is in Hampshire but it is independent and has been for sometime.
